Ticks are out!

The ticks are out and we are seeing our first cases of Erlichia of the year. It is time to get the flea and tick prevention started to reduce the risk of Lyme, Erlichia and other ricketsial tick borne diseases from infecting your pet.

We are using Promeris on our own dogs due to Frontline's POOR tick control and both of our dogs being positive for both Lyme and Erlichia despite religous use of Frontline. Promeris is a new product that was very very effective against ticks last fall and if it proves out we will replace Frontline with it over the next year or so. It is waterproof, kills and repells ticks, paralyses their mouth so they cannot bite or attach. It is also effective against fleas for 30 days. This product is not availble on line or so says Fort Dodge the company producing Promeris.We are selling it in 3 paks at a price less than a 3 pack of Frontline is at 1800PetMeds.
